South Bay News - S.E.O.
South Bay News | S.E.O. | Torrance | Manhattan Beach | Hermosa Beach | Redondo Beach
What does it take to be the number one, most visited website on Google? Alexa has some answers on popularity but more detail is needed since they are merely a traffic directory.
What drives all that traffic? Curious minds set off on a journey to find out. Does it take skill? How about luck? What makes Google think differently than Microsoft's Bing or Yahoo's search directory? Does Google think and if so, what knowledge is sought? Well, the answers seem to be difficult to obtain.
The leading minds on this matter refer to the term firmly as S.E.O. or search engine optimization. There are a few core issues when researching the notion of search. There are Google trained third party firms that host seminars and workshops to discuss such matters, no guarantees. At heart of the whole business of search is money and where there is money, there is competition.
To be on the first page rank of Google should mean no more than a pat on the back. However, revenue can be made by those fortunate websites that can organically create a high ranking.
Undertaking the task of breaking Google's code seems difficult. CNBC aired a special documentray "Inside the Mind of Google" which sparked further curiosity. Starting with Wikipedia, one finds that there is a magic formula of sorts. Up to 200 criteria are used to create page rank. Where to start?
As for good research, methodology is key. The aim is to create a white paper on the matter. What does it take to break the Google code?
A white paper will be published on this website. If the methodology is sound, the aim would be to share the information with small businesses and residents of the South Bay. Would the L.A. Times like to cover the task or how about the Daily Breeze? Maybe the Easy Reader or the Beach Reporter want to report the matter? Carson, Lawndale, Lomita, Torrance and the Palos Verdes residents might find the information to be useful. Other penny savers are welcome to participate.
Information is the currency for the 21st century. Once harnessed, the holder might find pockets full of Google gold.
Join the crusade.
