The best web sites that cover the South Bay | From Sports to Entertainment | South Bay News

Ever wonder through the internet looking for local news and information?  Google and Bing often produce relevent search results, but where is the local news beat?  Covering Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, El Segundo, Gardena, Carson, Lomita, Lawndale and Palos Verdes, the South Bay Beat is an online community of local residents serving local news interest.  Here is our take on the leading news sources.

Often, print media is the first and best source for coverage.  The best and most comprehensive news source, but not always the most local coverage, is the LA Times.  From the Lakers to the Clippers, USC Trojans to UCLA Bruins, LA Angels to LA Dodgers, or LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks, the LA Times has it all.  Local and nation coverage is provided.  Although somewhat light on South Bay coverage, the Los Angeles Times is the leading print and online news media outlet.  Hollywood and California are heavyweights in the print version, while the online version highlights sports, international and business news...Our Review - 5 Star

Leading the way in true, local coverage is the Daily Breeze.  Serving local events and news, the print version is often light on national news and brief with local coverage.  Despite being a little cousin of the LA Times, the Daily Breeze does the South Bay justice.  The Sports section and the blogs are spot on.  Where else can we find local classified ads besides Craig's List?...Our review - 4 Star
